Dr Kottur has been in practice since the 90s and has worked in diverse settings of Outpatient, Inpatient, Partial hospitalization, Residential Treatment Centers, etc. He brings this wealth of experience to his practice.
You will be treated in a Professional and non judgmental manner. A Psychiatric Evaluation will be performed to diagnose your unique mental health issues and formulate a treatment plan. If medication is needed, it will be prescribed and side effects will be monitored closely. Dr Kottur is very conservative with medications and the goal is to obtain the optimal outcome with the least dose possible.
Even though he does medication management mainly, some amount of psychotherapy (counseling) will be provided as an integral and inherent part of care, as they are both necessary for healing. This is applicable especially to children as they are part of a family system and all components need to be addressed. If patients need intensive psychotherapy, they are referred out to therapists and care will be coordinated. Besides practicing at his private office in Plano, TX, he consults for the Dallas ISD at their school clinics in Dallas, TX. He treats patients Age 3 – 60 years.
Dr Kottur likes to read, travel, spend time with his family during his leisure time.
